In Grade 7, children step into a pivotal year of adolescence where they develop profound self-understanding and essential life skills for the challenges ahead! Through Self-Awareness, students will explore emotions introduction by connecting physical symptoms to each emotion, nurture hope and dreams for their future, embrace body positivity in a world of unrealistic standards, understand their emotional triggers and personal stressors, recognize how emotions and actions are connected, build self-worth and self-respect, overcome self-criticism and negative self-talk, develop adaptability to handle life's changes, strengthen persistence through challenges, practice gratitude daily, answer the powerful question "Who Am I?" while discovering their passions and interests, and learn techniques for challenging worries including understanding the two types of worrying thoughts. In Self-Management, children will master various relaxation techniques, practice belly breathing with a block for deep calming, expand their personal "My Calm-Down Toolbox", learn powerful grounding techniques to stay anchored, build a thinking toolkit for managing unhelpful thoughts, and develop spatial awareness for navigating physical environments mindfully. Social Awareness broadens their worldview through understanding perception and perspectives, embracing global responsibility, grasping concepts of fairness and justice, learning to stay present in conversations, standing up against bullying courageously, practicing digital safety including creating mindful content about themselves, and reading body language and cues to understand unspoken messages. Through Relationship Skills, students will master conflict resolution by identifying conflicts and resolving differences peacefully, practice lending hands with compassion, participate in peer learning through reading buddy programs, develop courage in seeking help when needed, express appreciation genuinely, strengthen teamwork and cooperation, and explore the meaningful question "What is love?" in its many forms. Finally, Responsible Decision-Making instills being responsible for their actions, cultivates a growth mindset for continuous improvement, develops ethical decision-making rooted in integrity, teaches practical time management and managing time effectively, highlights the consequences of actions, introduces decision-making strategies, and guides students in achieving goals through consistent effort. By the end of Grade 7, children will possess the emotional intelligence, self-management mastery, and relationship wisdom needed to navigate adolescence with confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of who they are becoming!
